Reduce ‘fallow period’ after undertaking aerosol generating procedure (AGP) with the new BenchVent Air Changer Unit.
Current COVID19 guidance requires dental practice to observe AGP downtime or ‘fallow period’ after performing an aerosol generating procedure. ‘Fallow time’ dramatically reduces the number of patients a dental practice can accommodate, causing backlog and reduced efficiency.
The rate of aerosol clearance in an enclosed space is dependent on the extent of any mechanical or natural ventilation and the size of the droplets created. The greater the number of air changes per hour (ACH), the sooner any aerosol will be cleared.
According to the CDC infection control guidelines, a room with 6 ACH needs 69 minutes downtime to remove 99.9% of airborne contaminant. The higher the ACH, the shorter the downtime. This is where the BenchVent air changer unit can help. A single BV295D machine delivers approximately 12 ACH, thus reducing the down time to just 35 minutes base on CDC table. Two units will further reduce the down time to just 20 minutes.
